Inclusive Fashion Brand Recondition Launches Game-Changing Adaptive Jeans
The world of fashion is finally catching up with inclusivity – and Recondition is leading the charge. The adaptive fashion brand, founded by award-winning designer Ellie Brown, has just launched its first-ever jeans
Designed with the disabled community at its heart, Recondition’s mission is to create fashion-forward, functional clothing that doesn’t compromise on style. With over 16 million people in the UK living with a disability, the brand is on a mission to reframe how accessible fashion is perceived – and worn.
“We’re thrilled to unveil the first item from our adaptive collection,” says Ellie. “Inclusivity is everyone’s fight, and we’re proud to create clothing that’s accessible, adaptive and stylish.”
The debut jeans are made from stiff, stretchy denim that offers both structure and comfort, and were co-designed by six disabled creatives, who worked closely with the Recondition team to ensure every detail meets real-world needs. The result? A fresh take on everyday denim that works with, not against, the body.
These jeans aren’t just smart – they’re thoughtful. Features include:
Two hip shapes (slim and curvy) for each of the nine waist sizes – offering 18 size options in total
Patch pockets at the front for easier access when seated
Popper and pull-ring zip for easier dressing
Reinforced belt loops that can handle extra tension or tugging
Pull tabs to aid those with limited mobility
This carefully considered design was shaped by lived experience. Talula Cain, who has hypermobility and fibromyalgia, was one of the co-creators and said:
“It’s so important when a brand actually listens to what disabled people want – not just what they assume we need. I’ve never felt so seen and heard as I did working with Recondition.”
Among the brand’s biggest supporters is fashion blogger Lucy Jane, known for her empowering ‘Stylish with a Stoma’ tagline. Lucy will collaborate with the brand as it grows.
As adaptive fashion gains long-overdue attention, Recondition is proving that style and accessibility aren’t mutually exclusive – and that great jeans really can work for every body.
