Are you ready for it? The ‘unsmart’ Flip Phone is Back

By  |

Bodega and Heineken have joined forces with Human Mobile Devices (HMD) to launch a new no frills phone. Dubbed the ‘Boring Phone’ the retro device is so basic that it comes sans internet, social media, and apps.

Designed to help you disconnect, and discover there is more to your social life when there is less on your phone. The Boring Phone is a flip phone, with the sole purpose of making and receiving calls and text messages.

With smartphones becoming so advanced, it’s easier than ever to connect to the online world but harder to stay in the moment.

The design however is anything but basic. The phone’s transparent casing and holographic stickers draw inspiration from Gen Z’s love of Newtro fashion and design and are reminiscent of mobile phones of the early 2000s. It also has a handy week of standby time and up to 20 hours of talk time.
