A Middle Eastern Iftar Feast with Chef Ayesha Kalaji at Intercontinental London Park Lane

To honour the holy month of Ramadan, this February sees the launch of a Iftar menu created in collaboration with award-winning Jordanian chef Ayesha Kalaji

Iftar begins, as it should, gently. Guests are welcomed with a warming bowl of sorba, setting the tone before moving into an abundant selection of savoury mezze.

  • Crispy Cauliflower – glazed with preserved lime, served alongside cannellini musabaha, mint shatta and roasted grapes. A vegetarian centrepiece that feels anything but secondary.

The menu strikes a careful balance between indulgence and brightness – rich enough to feel celebratory, yet thoughtfully composed to avoid post-Iftar heaviness.

Dessert is where the menu leans playfully modern while honouring classic Middle Eastern notes.

The Chocolate, Mahleb and Raspberry features ruby chocolate crémeux, raspberry gel, milk crumb and a delicate pink mahleb tuile layered, fragrant and gently floral.

Alternatively, Frozen Yoghurt with Figs, Honey and Baklava offers a lighter, honeyed close – creamy, nutty and nostalgic.
