Friday Brunch at Baharat

By  |

Brunching at Baharat is a matter not to be taken lightly and the Baharat team is certainly not messing around.

Habibti Magazine sat down to brunch with Andreas Gober, Executive Chef and Raafat Nemeh, Baharat Oriental Chef to ask what makes Baharat so special.

Tucked away like a best-kept secret, in the swank Le Méridien Hotel Bahrain City Centre, Baharat is the place where time stands still every Friday. The ample yet cosy restaurant’s ambience is set with soft, relaxing live music and singing, attentive staff and as much food as the heart could ever desire.

Serving over thirty main mouthwatering main dishes and over eighty desserts representing all corners of the globe, Baharat is a journey of your culinary senses.

Baharat have won many accolades and awards including: Citi Fact Awards Favourite Middle Eastern Restaurant in Bahrain 2013, Citi Fact Awards Best Friday Brunch in Bahrain 2015 and 2016.

With different stations set up around the restaurant, you can expect to find yourself spoilt for choice with the menu typically ranging from Pasta, Sushi, Indian, Asian, grills, barbeque and roasts, local and European cuisines, including plenty of choice for kids, as well as the signature selection of Foie Gras and Beef ribs as an example.

Our personal favourites were too many too mention, but it should be noted; the sliders from the kid’s station are appreciated by both young and old and the butter chicken is also a must, served with freshly made hot tandoori nan.

However as self confessed sweet addicts, it’s the dessert area that truly bowled us over. With two chocolate fountains, make your own éclair station and mini arty delights filling every table surface space; the selection can be overwhelming and it’s best to approach with an optimistic outlook, ‘‘I will be successful in eating my weights worth in desserts’’.   The dessert speciality at Baharat is the sticky toffee pudding, and is not to be missed.

As we bid farewell and thank the Baharat Team, we sum up the philosophy at Baharat in our own words … ‘’Brunch with passion or then not at all’’.
