Meet Dr Najia Sheikh The Woman Making Waves on Harley Street

By  |

Meet Dr. Najia Shaikh, who is the founder and Medical Director at One Skin Clinic. A medical doctor, who is highly trained in advanced techniques in non-surgical cosmetic treatments.

Prior to setting up her Aesthetic Clinic in Harley Street, she worked full time in the NHS for the past 12 years, something she continues to do.

Dr Sheikh’s passion is to give her patients natural looking results and help them look refreshed and rested rather than ‘Done’ something which is all too common in the Aesthetic Industry.

Recently, our Editor in Chief Zaynab, met up with Dr Najia to experience the Fire & Ice Facial, just one of the clinic’s many A List backed treatments. Read on to find out more.

‘I can think of a lot of things one can do in 30 minutes, none of which result in me having skin rivaling that of an airbrushed model in a glossy magazine. The miracle facial in question is known as the Fire and Ice Facial.’

About The Fire & Ice Facial

The iS Clinical Fire & Ice Resurfacing Facial is a rejuvenating treatment that bridges the gap between a mild facial and an invasive peel, with no downtime. Using elements of heat and cold, this tfacial brightens, smoothes and tightens, resulting in photo-ready skin.

This facial is results-driven and designed to resurface the skin, treat problematic skin, reduce fine lines and encourage cellular renewal. It is a multi-step treatment with two professional masques combined with carefully selected iS Clinical products to optimise results.

The Fire & Ice facial treatment has been the top-selling treatment for the last 12 years at the Four Seasons, Beverley Hills.

The iS Clinical treatments and products have a huge  A-list following including Gwyneth Paltrow, Halle Berry, Jessica Alba and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley among others.

The Fire & Ice Facial can also help clear acne and improve acne scarring, as part of a treatment programme.

THE FACIAL

To start, Dr Najia cleansed my skin, she then applied iS Clinical’s Intensive Resurfacing Masque, an exfoliating treatment  with botanical acids, niacin and retinol, along with antioxidants and kaolin clay, to instantly smooth and brighten the skin. This was the “fire” part of the facial, and you do experience a slight burning sensation across your face.

After the exfoliating masque comes the “ice” part. Dr Najia applied the Rejuvenating Masque, which she applied on thickly to push the hydrating ingredients like aloe vera, rosemary extract, green tea extract, and hyaluronic acid deep into my skin. This  mask is also good for soothing redness and irritation, which I had plenty of that particular day.

Though, sadly, both of the products used during my facial are professional quality, you can re-create the effects by using an exfoliating treatment, like iS Clinical’s Tri-Active Exfoliant and following it with a hyper-hydrating and replenishing mask, like the brand’s Coolmint Revitalizing Masque .

POST FACIAL

After my super quick lunchtime in-and-out facial with Dr. Najia my skin experienced a metamorphosis. It was smooth, even, and dare I say.. radiant. I have to admit I kept looking at my face in the mirror on the drive home! I was especially impressed at the remarkable results achieved, in such a short space of time.

This one is definetely worth the price tag before a special occasion!
