Ninousha, smashing the fashion status quo into tiny little pieces.

Habibti Magazine caught up with Rana Tabbara, the woman behind Ninousha, at her home in Bahrain on the eve of her Brand launch at Saks Fifth Avenue, City Centre Bahrain.

As we enter her bright and airy home, we can see straight away that we are in the company of a very creative person. Beautiful art deco and quirky statues decorate the house, complementing each other and the house as a whole.  We sit and find out more about the fashion brand Ninousha and the brains behind it all.

Rana Tabbara, known as ‘Ninousha’ is a Bahraini / Lebanese, American born Designer with a B.S. in Interior Design, who has found her passion, reinventing traditional women’s clothing into powerful edgy fashion statements.

Having lived in many countries throughout her life, she took those influences and experiences to create her own unique style, mixing both East and West trends making her fashion brand appealing to women of all nationalities.

Rana is as captivating, bold and fun as her designs, and the more we speak,the more of Rana we start to see in the brand. A busy mum of three, Rana has managed to find an ideal work life balance between her company and her home life.

The brand Ninousha, was first launched in October 2015 in Dubai. Ninousha is a creative brand, creating visually appealing, expressive, bespoke cover-ups, also referred to as Bishts, that can be paired with anything, there are no rules. “Free your Style” is the brand philosophy.

Dressed down for a causal lunch or glammed up for a night out: these cover ups can be worn elegantly with a dress and heels, or with ripped jeans, a tee, sneakers or flat slippers. Most of Ninousha’s fashion is made with natural fabrics such as cotton, linen and silk and is free sized.

Ninousha enables women to be fashionable, current and comfortable without the restriction of tight, short or uncomfortable silhouettes. Different collections, although inspired by current trends, are translated and executed through her own visions. Ninousha also creates Harem pants & leather Madas slippers.

As we admire her latest collection, we ask her some more questions:

Who would you like to design an outfit for?
I would love to design an outfit for Lady Gaga, she has inspired me with her music, spirit and strength throughout my journey. It would mean a lot to me to have her wear my fashion! I have already started planning the design of her Cover up!

Can we expect a men’s collection soon?
I have had many requests for a men’s line for Ninousha, and it’s something that I envision will happen quite naturally and organically when the time is right.

Yes of course!  Lara Haidar, a corporate Lawyer living in Dubai!

Who are your fashion inspirations?
Many of my fashion inspirations don’t come from people! They come from current trends, nature and the actual fabrics!
